For my Masters Thesis at the Design Academy Eindhoven, I began by researching the flawed ways in which humans perceive risks and danger.

This research has concluded in a critical standpoint toward the purpose and effectiveness of safety measures in products.

As a practical response to this research, I have created a series of kitchen appliances which play on home safety myths.

I am trying to turn the dangers of products into pleasurable features, the final result being a whole kitchen environment

in which dangers and attractions are blurred.

The three appliances featured are:

A completely mobile gas cook top in which the heat comes directly from its source.

An all mesh microwave, which releases cooking aromas yet completely contains microwaves.

A wand toaster in which the heat is held in ones hands.
